We’ve all been there. You’re underground on the train, mid-flight, or just in a spotty corner of a coffee shop. You open an app to pass ten minutes, and you’re met with a spinning loading wheel or the dreaded: No Internet Connection.
Why does a classic space shooter need a server connection to let you dodge pixels?
That’s why I started Up Vector Games, and it’s why I’m building Offline Arcade.
The Problem with Modern Mobile Gaming
In 2026, mobile games have become… complicated. They are often bloated with 2GB updates, constant "push" notifications, and the requirement to be always-online so they can serve you the next ad or check a leaderboard.
I miss the days when you could just play. No loading screens, no data-usage anxiety, and no "pay-to-win" mechanics. Just you, a high score, and a few minutes of pure fun.
The Mission: Fun That Travels With You
Offline Arcade is a love letter to the classic era of gaming, rebuilt for the modern world. My goal is simple:
- True Portability: If your phone is on, the game is on. Period.
- Classic Soul, Modern Feel: Using Flutter, I’m remaking favorites like Solitaire, Spades and Alien Invasion to feel snappy, look crisp, and play perfectly on your screen—whether it’s a high-end Android or a browser window.
- A Studio that Respects the Player: As a single-person studio, I don’t have a boardroom to answer to. I only answer to the players. That means no predatory monetization—just games I actually want to play.
What’s Next for Up Vector Games?
Right now, the Offline Arcade PWA is live and playable directly on our site. I’m currently polishing the experience and preparing for our official launch on the Google Play Store (coming as soon as the paperwork clears!).
This isn't just about one game; it’s about building a collection of experiences that you can take anywhere. Whether you’re a fan of retro shooters or just need something to do while waiting for your latte, I want Offline Arcade to be your go-to.
